In partnership to protect children in Gaza
Save the Children New Zealand has joined forces with Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand to support Let Children Live – a global campaign to protect children in Gaza and call for an end to the ongoing conflict.
Every child has the right to live in safety, with dignity and hope.
We lift the names of the 2.38 million Palestinian children living under blockade and Israel’s unlawful occupation, and demand the world uphold its duty to protect their future.
Not just numbers - NAMES
At the heart of the campaign is a powerful call to action: to name and represent the children who are still alive.
By registering at LetChildrenLive.com, you will be assigned the first name and age of a living Palestinian child. These may include names such as Samira (9), Omar (6), Leen (12), George (14) or Nadine (3).
Once you receive a name, it becomes your responsibility to share it. Make the name visible - online, in your neighbourhood, in public spaces. Help ensure that the child’s right not only to survive, but to live in safety and freedom, is recognised and defended.
The campaign’s goal is to assign all 2.3 million names. We need your help.
Global Day of Action - 13 September
On Saturday, 13 September, people around the world will take part in a coordinated day of action, just ahead of the United Nations General Assembly’s 18 September deadline for Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian territory.
Participants everywhere will take to the streets, each carrying the name of a Palestinian child. Every name represents a child whose life and future deserve protection.
March the Bridge - Auckland
If you’re based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, we invite you to take part in March the Bridge, a local mobilisation event starting at 9.30am on Saturday, 13 September.
We will carry their names, say them out loud, and demand protection, justice, and an end to the violence. We refuse to let these children become statistics.
