For more than 75 years, Save the Children New Zealand has worked alongside children, families, communities, partners and supporters to create lasting change for children in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific, Asia and beyond. Through our development and humanitarian programmes, we help children survive, learn and be protected, ensuring they have access to healthcare, education, safety and the opportunities they need to thrive. We reach children in some of the world's toughest places and during the most challenging emergencies, responding when and where children need us most.

Alongside our international work, we empower children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand through advocacy, education and youth engagement programmes that help ensure children's rights are understood, respected and upheld. Working in partnership with local communities, governments, NGOs, corporate partners and donors, we deliver evidence-based programmes that strengthen resilience, improve wellbeing and create brighter futures for children and their families.

Today, Save the Children New Zealand delivers programmes across Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific and Asia that help children survive, learn and be protected. Working alongside local communities, governments and partners, our programmes focus on improving education, health, child protection, climate resilience, disaster preparedness and sustainable livelihoods. We support children and families to overcome challenges, strengthen their communities and build brighter futures.
In Aotearoa New Zealand, our work includes children's rights education, advocacy and youth engagement programmes that empower tamariki and rangatahi to have their voices heard and create positive change. Internationally, we deliver both long-term development programmes and emergency responses, ensuring children affected by poverty, conflict, climate change and disasters receive the support they need to thrive. Through every programme, we work towards a world where every child can grow up safe, healthy and able to reach their full potential.

Past Programmes

Every programme tells a story of children, families, and communities coming together to create positive change.
