We work to create irreversible positive change for and with children.

In Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children’s unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.

In 2024, your support made a powerful difference.

From breaking the cycle of poverty in Bangladesh’s brothel communities to helping families recover from cyclones in the Pacific and supporting youth-led advocacy to end child marriage in Solomon Islands - our Impact Report tells the story of thousands of lives changed thanks to you.

We invite you to explore our 2024 Impact Report - a powerful reflection of the resilience, courage, and hope shown by children and communities around the world, and the real-world outcomes made possible by your generosity.

Impact highlight | You helped families in Somalia survive drought and conflict.

Communities in Somalia endured one of the worst food crises in recent history. Years of prolonged drought, rising food prices, and conflict left over 4.6 million people in urgent need of food, water, and support.

Thanks to your generosity, Save the Children New Zealand reached vulnerable families in the Galkacyo and Burao districts with life-saving assistance. Unconditional cash transfers helped over 2,500 people, including 1,584 children, meet their essential needs, while additional support focused on health, safety, and long-term resilience.

Your impact in Somalia in 2024:

  • 400 households received cash transfers to support food, water, education, and medical needs
  • 420 caregivers (mainly mothers) trained in infant and young child nutrition
  • 2,265 people reached through child protection awareness campaigns
  • 508 community members trained in conflict resolution strategies

Your support helped families survive crisis and begin rebuilding their lives with strength and dignity.
