Thank you for registering!

Thank you for registering to take part in our children’s elections 2023! In doing so, you are amplifying the voices of the tamariki of Aotearoa and ensuring that their views are heard in the lead up to the general elections.

We recommend running your election between the 4th to the 22nd of September in term 3! Or between the 9th to the 13th of October in Term 4!

Please ensure the completed voting forms are returned to us so that your children's voices can be heard!

Our downloadable resource bundle includes everything you need to run a children’s election in your school, including:

  • A child-friendly guide to our political candidates. This was developed alongside the politicians, and includes their favourite jokes, foods, animals, and of course the serious stuff, like what they will do to improve the lives of children in Aotearoa.
  • Voting forms – including the opportunity to share their voice on issues that are important to them.
  • Election day materials – posters, bunting, and decorations to make your election day extra exciting!

Have you heard about Super Millie?

In our effort to gather as many children’s voices as we can this Election year, we’ve enlisted the help of our resident superhero, ‘Super Millie’.  Watch this video for inspiration about why tamariki should have their say!

Why we're gathering children’s voices for General Election 2023

The views and opinions of children and young people matter - and ensuring those voices are heard is a fundamental right.  As we work to create positive change for and with children, it’s vital they are heard and considered this election year.
