It’s Giving Tuesday on 30 November. A global day of giving and unity. Today we want to give thanks to you and make this a day of gratitude.

Amidst the constant upheaval of the pandemic, you're making real strides for children. We're so excited to tell you how you've supported Edith*.

You Gave Her Back Her Learning

Six-year-old Edith lives with her family in a refugee settlement in Uganda. With schools closed, she’s been learning at home – with the help of community radio lessons you’ve helped to fund!

We all know education is so important to help children develop. And, during the lockdowns, radio lessons are a safe way to keep children learning during the pandemic.

Edith is supported in her lessons by Save the Children’s Knight*, who sets up the radio at homes and villages. Edith enjoys her learning lessons and is proud that she can now sing the alphabet. Who wouldn’t – it’s a brilliant achievement for a six-year-old!

Watch this short video to see the power of radio for yourself.
