Longstanding Save the Children supporters Kit and Bruce Houghton have travelled extensively across Asia and the Pacific and have seen the effects of poverty on children.

A visit to Hong Kong in 1968 sparked the idea of sponsoring a child through Save the Children. It began a lifetime journey with then-eight-year-old Linda.

Kit and Bruce supported Linda throughout her school years, and always enjoyed reading her letters. Thanks to their support she secured a good job when she finished school and eventually became the personal assistant to a Chief Executive.

Kit and Bruce got involved with Save the Children all those years ago for the simple reason that they wanted to help others. For Kit it’s important to continue her support through a gift in her Will “to give other children like Linda a chance”.

Bruce is also keen to make provision for the future in this way and says he’s confident that Save the Children will always be there to care for and protect children.

A big thank you to Kit and Bruce and all the other wonderful supporters who have chosen to leave gifts in their Wills that will change the lives of future generations of children.
