If it was up to young people like Bobita, every child would have the opportunity of an education.

When given the basic resources that should be theirs by right – regular meals, medical care, and education – we know children can go on to do wonderful things.

“I always loved to study. Being admitted to school changed my life completely.”

At the age of seven Bobita thought her education, and with it the chances of escaping poverty, was about to end forever.

Bobita lives in one of Bangladesh’s poorest towns where there is a large sex work industry. Bobita’s mother was always worried about her daughter’s future. Thankfully, Bobita’s mother took her to Save the Children’s Safe Home for at-risk girls where Bobita received nutritious meals, education, health care and support.

“I made friends here, I was loved, I learned about living a dignified life.”

Today Bobita is a social worker at our Safe Home, where she mentors young girls once like her. Having been given the chance to escape her own poverty, she wants nothing more than to pass on that opportunity to others.

"I want to stand beside the girls like me, I want them to be educated. I want to help them build their own lives."

When given the basic resources that should be theirs by right – regular meals, medical care, and education – we know children can go on to do wonderful things.

A combination of climate crises, unresolved conflicts and the increasing number of displaced people is set to increase the pressure on our poorest communities. It’s the children of tomorrow who will inherit these growing problems and will need to be ready to meet some big challenges.

By including a gift to Save the Children in your Will, you can make sure children like Bobita inherit the resources they need to solve those problems.

When you give a gift in your Will, you give power to the children of tomorrow.
