Natural disasters are having a devastating effect on our planet, and it is children who feel their effects the most. Save the Children focuses on working with children and their communities to prepare for disasters, as well as being there for them when disaster strikes.

In 2019, one of our key programmes will be providing urgent child protection support for 600 adolescent girls in Indonesia, through the establishment of five Girl Friendly Spaces. This will provide life-saving protection and psychosocial and resilience support for girls impacted by the earthquake and tsunami.

Your support of $5,000 or more can be directed to this vital work.

By partnering with us in our Leave Your Mark campaign, you can provide significant support for children like Kemala to ensure that they recover from the trauma of natural disasters.

Save the Children’s innovative education programmes give children the essential learning foundations they need to fulfil their potential, as well as playing a pivotal part in breaking the poverty cycle for vulnerable children and their families.

Our work in the Daulatdia brothel in Bangladesh is Save the Children New Zealand’s longest-running programme, providing high quality pre-school and primary education for hundreds of children.

Your support of $5,000 or more can be directed to the next stage of our Daulatdia project, which will include providing secondary education support, vocational training for school leavers and vital advocacy work.

You will be rewriting the future for young people like Laxmi when you partner with us to help educate the children of Daulatdia.

In conflicts such as in Syria, Yemen and Bangladesh, Save the Children helps to reduce children’s vulnerability by providing the security and support they need to recover through our Child Friendly Spaces. We also ensure refugee children can resume their education as quickly as possible through our Temporary Learning Centres.

In 2019, as well as providing general support for various international conflict situations, Save the Children New Zealand will continue its child protection programme in Thailand and hopes to commence support for a similar programme in the Solomon Islands.

Your gift of $5,000 or more can help support children impacted by conflict and in need of protection.

By supporting our Leave Your Mark campaign, you can help ensure Aziz and hundreds of children like him receive the support they need to reach their potential.
