Supporting Autistic Learners

 

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child ensures participation for every child, and the right to an education. In order to provide an inclusive and child rights friendly learning environment, there are many small changes we can make to our teaching practice to be more inclusive.

For autism awareness month we compiled some lesser-known tips from the online community. Simple tips like changing the colour contrast or font size on your worksheets or powerpoints are easy strategies to cater for diverse learners. While these may apply to some learners, remember that everyone is different and diverse!
