You can feel extra good on pay days by supporting us through payroll giving. Payroll giving is the easy way to support Save the Children directly from your salary or wages. Donating in this way means your tax refund (33 cents in every dollar) can be credited back to you immediately instead of at the end of the financial year.
For example, if you choose to donate $15 a week you’ll get an immediate tax refund of $5 - only $10 comes off your payslip but Save the Children New Zealand receives $15.
- It’s easy, a great alternative to having to retain your receipts and claim a tax credit at the end of the year.
- It’s flexible – you can increase, decrease or suspend your donation at any time.
Payroll giving is still relatively new to New Zealand, and not every employer offers the scheme, so ask your manager or HR contact if it is available in your workplace. Any organisation that electronically files their employer monthly schedule and deduction form with Inland Revenue can choose to offer payroll giving to their employees. If your employer uses iPayroll or Ace Business Solutions to provide payroll services you can select Save the Children directly through them.
Find out more about how it works on the Inland Revenue website.
We are happy to talk to you or your employer about setting up payroll giving at your workplace, contact us on 0800 167 168 or email@example.com
