In Colombia, Save the Children is working on improving the quality of education for children. We are also working hard to protect thousands of children from poverty, violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect.

As well as delivering programmes directly to communities, we partner with national and local government departments to improve their capacity to help vulnerable children. Much of our focus is on children who have been affected by the armed conflict that has plagued Colombia.

We provide teacher training, free lunches, uniforms and books. We also sponsor after-school activities and weekend projects to teach children about their rights and to encourage their own sense of self-worth .
