DRC 1 DRC 3 DRC 2

Save the Children’s efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) focus on children’s education, healthcare and safety. We also help local communities prepare for times of crisis during emergencies.

Some of our achievements so far include:

  • Providing access to quality education for at least 43,000 children in three provinces of the DRC;
  • Nutritional screening and treatment for at least 9,000 under-five year olds who suffer from severe acute malnutrition;
  • Supporting 4,000 children who are affected by HIV;
  • Educating communities about HIV and its prevention;
  • Ensuring that 8,000 children who are separated from their families, or have been abandoned, are able to access protection systems ;
  • Helping children in legal trouble access a child-friendly justice system; and
  • Supporting government agencies and communities so that they can better protect children.
