Newly elected president, Arthur Davis, said, “Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation. From the very beginning of Save the Children New Zealand, the dedication of our volunteers has enabled us to help children in need all over the world. That’s over 60 years of hard work and commitment. We couldn’t do what we do without them.”
Today over 6,000 New Zealanders volunteer their time for Save the Children New Zealand, raising funds and running 31 retail shops from the North Shore to Southland. In the shops alone, our volunteers work for 80,000 hours per year.
The funds raised by volunteers go towards supporting Save the Children’s work in countries such as Fiji, Kenya, India, New Zealand, Nepal, Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe.
