Worlds Kids Colouring Day -  6 May 2008

World Kids Colouring Day encourages primary school children across New Zealand and the world to auction, trade or appoint sponsors for drawings and pictures they’ve designed themselves. Funds raised will be directed to our ‘Rewrite the Future’ Programme for children in Colombia. By taking part, schools can help support more public schools, train more teachers and give more children the chance to get an education.
There are three major prizes as well as prizes for schools that raise more than $500.

St Dominic’s is one of more than 200 schools in New Zealand taking part in the worldwide event which will see students trade or auction their artworks among friends and family.  The aim is to raise more than US$6.8 million (NZ8.4 million) to help children and young people in Colombia.

Rewrite the Future is Save the Children’s first global campaign in our 89 year history.  It focuses on securing quality education for the millions of children out of school as a result of war and armed conflict.  We are calling for change for these children, and making a direct difference ourselves by aiming to provide good quality education in conflict-affected countries for 8 million children by 2010.
