Education
Save the Children recognises the importance of quality education for children all around the world, especially children who are marginalised and hard to reach.
We have hundreds of education staff working around the world who are committed to ensuring that all children receive a quality education.
Save the Children New Zealand supports education and youth outreach programmes in a range of different countries, including Fiji, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia and Kenya.
We believe that the earlier children start on their education journey, the more successful they will be in their first year of school, and the more likely it is that they will complete school successfully. Many of the programmes we support are focused on early childhood education and are designed to inspire creative learning methods and structured play activities.
Our programmes also aim to ensure all children benefit from quality, safe learning environments, effective teaching methods and community participation.
Education is also essential for children’s wellbeing and recovery in emergencies and conflict-affected areas. So, whenever disaster strikes we want to make sure children have access to basic quality education.
