Database Manager-Analyst - Wellington
Do you have a clear understanding of donors and the performance of fundraising campaigns?
Can you provide performance analysis to ensure that SCNZ gets optimum gains from fundraising activity?
The Database Manager-Analyst is expected to work with the Finance Manager to manage the small database team to ensure the integrity of the database, the accuracy of data and to maintain effective processes for the interface between the donor database and the Financial Management Information System.
The Database Manager-Analyst is also expected to work with the Manager Marketing Sales and Communications to develop the database, to track, analyse, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, donor retention, donor recruitment, and donor upgrade initiatives. In addition the Database Manager-Analyst will be expected to undertake competitor analysis to inform decisions both nationally and internationally.
If you are self-motivated, can hit the ground running and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, have a good eye for detail with a can-do attitude who can juggle multiple tasks and consistently deliver, we’d love to hear from you.
The ideal person will:
- be tertiary qualified in a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 5 years relevant practical experience
- be keen to be part of a busy team and be able to hit the ground running
- have an understanding of the complexities and demands of working for an NGO
- possess strong analytical and data manipulation skills
- possess a working knowledge of database segmentation techniques
- have a good understanding of supporter/donor/client acquisition techniques, and of the application of relationship-marketing concepts in a voluntary organisation
- possess sound planning and organisational skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines and must be outcome driven and accountable
- possess advanced IT literacy, including expertise in spreadsheet analysis, and experience in the use of software tools for complex analysis
- be able to communicate effectively, with a strong command of both spoken and written English
- share a commitment to the vision, mission, values, principles, and aims of Save the Children.
This is a permanent role. Salary circa $55,000pa dependent on skills and experience.

We can always do with more hands on deck. We often rely on our fabulous volunteers to help us out with a wide variety of fundraising activities; advocacy and raising awareness of children’s rights; staffing our retail shops around the country; and collecting donations during fundraising events.
Volunteering is fun and a great way to meet new friends and to learn new skills.
