KNOW about us
Save the Children works to create a better future for children.
We deliver world-class solutions and sustainable results for children all around the world. We save children’s lives, protect their rights and provide children with the opportunity to live healthy, successful lives and achieve their full potential.
Our key areas of work include:
Our work is based on the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, both of which share the conviction that all people are of equal worth, that children have rights and that everybody has a responsibility to make these rights a reality.
Wherever we work, our goal is to ensure children’s rights are met and always respected and that children know what their rights are.
When disaster strikes, we respond immediately to help save children’s lives and then introduce longer term plans to help ensure ongoing solutions are in place for communities to recover and re-build.
Save the Children’s vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
Save the Children’s mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
Save the Children New Zealand is guided by five core values: accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity and integrity.
